Johannes Schmidt
My name is Johannes Schmidt, but most people I work with call me Jocho.
I'm currently (officially starting June 2024) working as a Ph.D. candidate in the Institute of Numerical Simulation at the University of Bonn.
Besides doing research I am responsible for the IT Infrastructure of the Institute. I lead/coordinate/train a team of 8 system administrators.

- Master of Science - Computer Science (University of Bonn; Oct 2020 - March 2024)

- I specialiced in Audio Signal Processing, did a lab and seminar in the field and wrote my Masterthesis in it. All of my investigations included machine learning.

- From the 4th semester, my curiosity led me to take additional master courses in physics alongside the workload of the Bachelor.

- Although my main focus lay on math/theory/numerics I decided to do my bachelor thesis in the lab, where I've build a device that is now used for experiments.

As a side project I strengthen my Data Science/Analysics skills to prepare for business analysis jobs as a freelancer.

I never worked as a software developer, but I do my best to stay up to date with current best practices of a junior developer using python and C.
Full-Stack Development
July 2022 I started learning about web technologies. I don't see myself competing in the market, but I want to maintain a certain amount of craftmanship in this area. So I build and selfhost some web applications from time to time. Here some references:
